We have a two year old daughter that we people comment is well ahead of the age mates. Among many things, she is able to count to 16, count to 10 in Swahili, knows all her colors and not just primary and secondary colors, all shapes including other shapes like nonagon, of course knows her alphabet and can converse in sentences. We are lucky in that she is not only curious, interested and inquisitive to learn more and also has a memory like an elephant.
The dilemma we face now is which school to take her to in order to learn the social aspect of life and possibly more than what her parents have already taught her. The advice we keep getting is that she needs to go somewhere where she shall be challenged to learn more and the choices are there, however the concern is the cost.
I shall be interviewing several schools in my vicinity before the summer break is over. So far we have received the tuition cost for some of these schools and clearly we want the best for her, but we need a scholarship.
I wonder if they offer scholarships or grants this early in the stage. We might be educating ourselves on how to school her at home till she gets to five and ready for FREE public school education system. Are we ready for that, or better yet is it satisfactory?
The price we pay for being proactive.....
